My name is Kimberly Rhodes and I was born and raised in the northern brisk state of Alaska. Ever since I was a young teen, I’ve always had an interest in esthetics. By 14 I had my first wax, and shortly after I bought my very own at-home wax kit. I enjoyed practicing not only on myself but on others as well - I even convinced my dad and brother to participate! Immediately, I was hooked.
In 2009 I dropped my drugstore microwavable wax and moved to the bay area to pursue my dream of becoming a professional esthetician. I was accepted into the Cinta Aveda Institute of San Francisco and graduated with honors.
On March 7, 2011 I took my dream a step further and opened my own self-ran waxing boutique, Smooth and Sassy. It was the scariest yet most exciting day of my life. By this time I had built a solid clientele during my experience at previous salons, but I couldn’t help but fear they wouldn’t follow! Now, here I am a few years into my business and I couldn’t be happier. I absolutely love what I do and have been fortunate with a thriving boutique and fabulous clientele that I have the opportunity to work with every day.
